Bio

     Derrick S. Isaac, PRP is an experienced Parliamentarian with an extensive knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order. He has served many organizations prior to joining the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) where he obtained the credentials of Registered Parliamentarian (RP) & Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP) all within his first 6 months of being a member. He has a passion for running effective meetings and educating individuals and groups on the effective use of Parliamentary procedure. He is a charter member of the Parliamentarians of Brooklyn, New York (PBNY) a division of the National Association of Parliamentarians and an affiliate of the New York Association of Parliamentarians. He currently serves as the unit’s Sergeant at Arms. Additionally he serves on the Nominating Committee for the New York Association of Parliamentarians. In 2020, he also became a charter member of the Parliamentarians of Queens, New York (PQNY) and served as the unit’s first Parliamentarian. In 2022, he moved to Delaware and became a member of the Delaware Association of Parliamentarians.

Derrick has several years of experience serving in various Parliamentary capacities. He is a former President of the Queens Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. where he utilized Robert’s Rules as the Parliamentary Authority to effectively preside over meetings. He has held several roles over the years to include Vice President, Nominating Committee Chairman, and committee chairman to essentially every standing committee within the chapter. This work has enhanced his knowledge in the areas of presiding, elections, bylaws, board functions, and committee operations. Derrick has served many organizations from schools, to boards, to alumni associations, and even libraries in different capacities. He provides educational workshops and general Parliamentary services to customers. He has written numerous Parliamentary opinions and consulted on organization’s bylaws and governing documents as well.

Derrick is a Technology professional by trade and possesses a Bachelors degree in Information Science & Technology as well as a Masters in Information Systems Management. He is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers where he served as the Parliamentarian for the local chapter, the New York XL Chapter. He is also a commissioned officer in the US Army & received his commission from the Temple University Army ROTC program in 2005. He has served honorably for 18 years and his current rank is Captain.
